Atmospheric Gaol

点评：Brilliant historical gaol, really well maintained. It is a dog friendly venue, which is a must for us, as we do like to take our dog places. There are lifts on the premises, great addition for anyone with mobility issues. Entrance fee is cheap, £9, but with discount from our entry into Nantclwyd y Dre, we had another 20% off. If you visit either place, retain your receipt for this discount. The reception staff at the gaol are lovely; friendly, welcoming, and chatty.
The gaol provided lots of information in each cell, and exhibits to see, plus you can take a hand held device which explains each room, relaying inmate’s stories and so on. This providing interesting background info with insights into the gaol, and life there. Also, in some cells, there are points whereby you can smell what it was like inside the jail, and there are sounds in the cells which recreate the people, and activities. This is very atmospheric.
In all, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.
