点评：After the thunderous experience of Athirapalli, I made a short ride over to Vazhachal Waterfalls, and I’m so glad I did. It’s just about 5 km from Athirapalli, but the vibe here is totally different — quieter, more serene, and beautifully surrounded by thick greenery.
Unlike the dramatic drop at Athirapalli, Vazhachal is a wide, sloping waterfall, where the river gently but powerfully flows over smooth rocks. It’s not about height here — it’s about calmness and rhythm. There’s a small, well-maintained park area with benches, walking paths, and viewpoints that make it perfect for just sitting back and soaking in the atmosphere.
As a solo traveler, this place felt like a reset. Less crowded, less noise, just the sound of the river and rustling leaves. If you enjoy peaceful spots more than busy tourist hubs, you’ll probably like this one even more than Athirapalli.
🦋 Also, the biodiversity here is incredible — butterflies everywhere, fresh forest air, and the whole area is part of the Sholayar forest region. You feel the shift from “waterfall viewing” to truly being in nature.
