Once-in-a-lifetime Overnight Kayak Trip in Kenai Fjords

点评：Trip of a Lifetime. The overnight kayak trip to Northwestern Glacier with Miller’s Landing was unbelievable, with stunning glacial and mountain views, abundant wildlife, and serene kayaking. The sheer beauty of the Kenai Peninsula was indescribable. Through our 2 days kayaking in Resurrection Bay and Northwestern Fjord, we spotted hundreds of seals and their pups lounging on ice, sea lions swimming along the coast (including 5 who came under our kayak and gave us a friendly splash), sea otters cracking shellfish on their backs, humpback whales in the distance, dall’s and harbor porpoises, and a ton of sea birds and intertidal marine life. Our guide Ryan was incredible, and it’s clear how knowledgeable and passionate he is about guiding and the local wildlife. He knew the name and facts about every bird we saw, and was happy to answer any question and converse with us throughout the trip. He went above and beyond in every capacity, cooking up everything from delicious rockfish tacos and mango salsa on the beach to morning breakfast sandwiches and hummus wraps. His helpfulness, passion, and knowledge was a highlight of the trip and Miller’s Landing is very lucky to have him as a guide. Camping overnight in Resurrection bay to the sound of waves crashing and waking up with a morning mocha and heading to explore Northwestern Fjord was one of the coolest experiences of my life. The fjord was absolutely breathtaking and the tidewater glaciers are truly must-see. Also thank you to the captain of the fishing boat Paul, who came to pick us up and drop us off in the fjord. If you’re heading to the Seward Area and not booking a kayak trip with Miller’s Landing, you should rethink your itinerary because their professionalism, guides, and passion makes the Kenai experience even better.
