Alaska at Its Best—Kayaking Near Holgate Glacier

点评：We originally signed up for a group glacier kayaking tour, but it turned into a private adventure—and honestly, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was hands-down one of the most unforgettable experiences of our trip to Alaska!
Our main guide, Ryan, was outstanding—deeply knowledgeable and incredibly engaging. He shared so much fascinating info about the area, from the behavior of local aquatic wildlife (salmon, rockfish, sea otters, sea lions, whales—you name it!) to the science behind glacier formation and the ongoing environmental changes. Every explanation felt like a mini nature documentary, made even better because we were living it in real time.
We were also lucky to have three other amazing guides along with us, and together, the four of them made us feel like royalty. They kept the energy high with constant humor, positive vibes, and genuine conversation. Each one made a real effort to connect with us and ensure we were having fun every step of the way.
The kayaking itself was a full 13.8 miles, with breaks at various scenic islands. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, its best when there’s a slight drizzle over harsh glare on a sunny day. One of the most memorable stops was at a beach right near Holgate Glacier. We climbed up a rock for a better view and were treated to hot mocha while watching massive chunks of ice calve off the glacier into the water with a thunderous roar—absolutely surreal.
This wasn’t just an outdoor activity, it was an experience layered with beauty, insight, and heartfelt hospitality. Huge thanks to Ryan and the entire crew at Miller’s Landing—we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. If you’re thinking about booking this, stop thinking. Just go!

皮划艇行程长达13.8英里，中途在各个风景优美的岛屿间休息。天气再好不过了，晴天里夹杂着阵阵细雨，阳光刺眼，真是美极了。最难忘的一站是霍尔盖特冰川附近的一处海滩。为了更好地欣赏景色，我们爬上了一块岩石，一边享用着热摩卡，一边看着巨大的冰块从冰川上崩落到海水中，发出雷鸣般的轰鸣——绝对超现实的景象。
