点评：Brendan Jones is the best kayak guide ever! Be sure to book him at Miller's Landing for your next excursion. We took the guided day kayaking tour to Aialik Bay of the Kenai Fjords National Park. Brendan made the two hour boat taxi ride go by in a flash with his thorough knowledge of the area pointing out things of interest along the way and sharing with us some warm and yummy breakfast burritos made by the cafe. He prepared our kayaks and gear, launched us on the water, and took excellent care of us. It wasn't long before a Humpback whale came by to check us out. Brendan kept us at a safe distance and quiet while the whale surfaced 4 times before diving. We continued to Abra Bay and arrived at high tide enabling us to kayak up to the waterfall where Brendan took a group photo. After stretching on the beach and getting a snack that Brendan had brought along, we departed and began our crossing to Slate Island. Otters and seals made guest appearances along the way. Once we reached the island Brendan's sharp eye spotted a black bear rummaging for some food. We floated on the water and enjoyed watching the bear which Brendan explained would have had to swim to get to the island. We then kayaked to Aialik Glacier where we floated by glacial ice that had calved from the glacier and could see seals warming themselves on the ice in the distance. Staying a safe distance from the glacier we were fascinated at its size. It cracks like thunder as the ice breaks off into the sea. Brendan took a group photo and then we kayaked to a safe location on the beach where Brendan shared lunch, snacks, and hot chocolate with us prepared by the cafe. After lunch, we kayaked back to Slate Island where Brendan showed us a couple nesting eagles. We then met the boat taxi for the ride back. Truly, the highlight of our Alasakan adventure and an experience none of us will ever forget! Many thanks Brendan!
