点评:We boarded our bus at 3:10 and met our guide/driver Jake. In no time we we were all on the bus and off we went. We quickly learned that the tour only went to Mile 42 as the road beyond had been washed out by a rock glacier! The damaged area is high on a mountainside and it has taken incredible engineering and hard work to get it restored; hopefully by 2027.
We loved Pete's narration as he explained so much about the park; its origins, its expansion and how it was decided to keep it as wild as possible. Very interesting!
It was great having 51 sets of eyes on the bus with us, all striving to see wildlife. We saw ptarmigan, golden eagles, ground squirrels, lots of Dall sheep and about 10 moose! What an adventure. Our viewing was enhanced by a camera on the front of the bus that zoomed in on the wildlife and showed on screens above our heads. Awesome!
Our tour lasted about 5 hours and it was simply incredible. We highly recommend!
