Clacton Pier的点评
点评：The pier is well run with safety in mind. We were there on probably the busiest day of the year - day two of the air show. It was busy busy busy but ran like clockwork with plenty of pier staff on hand. There are a few niggles as there always will be with attractions of this size. The main one for us was toilets. The main toilet block, whist clean on the surface and well stocked with paper etc is in need of a total gutting and refurbish. Or at the very least a good jet wash of the walls and some new silicone beading! The internals are as old as me - the same as when I visited as a child 50 years ago! Also the prices of food in the bar, and in Mariners are out of reach for families. They were not full at any point - a great opportunity missed in my view. Money is made on drinks not food so to out price families and force them off pier to eat means much less profit on drinks and associated sundries such as arcades from kids pesterpower; sadly most families took their custom elsewhere including us. Now back to the positives! I want to give a special mention to Matthew - Mr Thumbs Up who was operating the Miami Trip ride. He was really lovely with the children, and his commitment to their safety and feeling secure and safe was second to none; checking with each and every child no matter how busy. My granddaughter loved him. Thank you Mr Thumbs Up you made her day! The pier is clean, yes could do with a bit of smartening up but it’s obviously work in progress and probably a bit like painting the Forth Bridge. Lovely views of the airshow from the pier and the Thursday evening Fireworks were spectacular. I’d recommend a visit. But a wristband for best value. At the moment you can upgrade that wristband on tte day to a yearly pass for an extra £25! If you’re going regularly that’s a bargain not to be missed. Thank you Clacton Pier for a lovely day out.
