⭐ Killerton National Trust – Lovely Walks, But Some Disappointments

点评：Killerton offers a fantastic day out if you’re into walking and exploring varied terrain – there’s a great mix of woodland paths, open fields, and shaded trails, so there’s something for everyone. It’s also a brilliant spot for geocaching, with plenty of locations scattered across the grounds to keep things interesting.
The house itself is beautifully presented downstairs – full of character, history, and atmosphere. However, the upstairs was a bit of a let-down. It felt completely out of place with the rest of the property, and in my opinion, the clothing displays would be better suited to a separate exhibition area rather than taking over what should be a continuation of the historical experience.
One of the biggest frustrations on our visit was the lack of food options if you have a dog. The main restaurant has a far better menu, but you’re not allowed to sit inside or in the main eating area with a dog, so you’re left with a very basic food selection elsewhere – a real shame, as more and more people visit with pets these days.
Also disappointing was the lack of bins around the site, especially in the car park – it was noticeably untidy, which seems largely due to the fact that there simply aren’t enough bins provided.
That said, Killerton is absolutely worth a visit for the walking alone, especially if you enjoy nature or geocaching. Just go prepared for limited food options with dogs and a few quirks around the house.
