We drove 60 miles to get here and unfortunately hit heavy traffic on the motorway which made us late. I called and spoke to Janie to let them know, I told her our ETA according to my maps and continued to keep them informed - she said it was not a problem, a lot of their other customers were experiencing the same thing and to keep coming.
We got to the car park and received our 7th call from Janie who told us: “you better be in front of me in 2 minutes or your flight is cancelled”
Upon arrival, Janie proceeds to talk down to us, tell us we were overweight, accuse us of lying about when we’d arrive, charge us an extra £20 to get on the flight and tell us how ‘lucky’ we were that her boss wasn’t there or we wouldn’t be allowed to fly - all in front of other customers and staff.
All that for a 10 minute flight, worth it? Probably not. Shame for one member of staff to ruin the experience but maybe a few personal etiquette lessons will remedy the issue.
