Isle au Haut Boat Services的点评
点评：Provided exactly what was on the tin. Four of us took the packed 10 am mail boat, we were dropped off at Isle au Haut town for an hour, picked back up and enjoyed the ride back to Stonington. The boat was clean, the staff were professional. It’s not a cruise with fun facts and entertainment, and that was appealing in its own right.
There are a bathroom and wait no-frills waiting room available but we just waited on the dock. Parking was $6, not included but very conveniently placed.
We could have done the round trip and stayed several hours on the island but our group was not able to handle a hike of that duration. Instead we headed to the Acadia National Park ranger station and did a bit of the trail behind. With the government shutdown, the bathroom was and station were closed but it was still a nice place to stop for a picnic lunch. If we hadn’t stopped, I wonder if we could have made it to the lighthouse and back.
