点评：A good day out for all the family at this accessible property with lots to offer for all ages. It covers a relatively small area so is easy to get around and there’s enough to keep you entertained for four or five hours.
First, the house: It May lack the grandeur of some of the more popular National Trust estates, but there’s lots to be gained from a tour: a fascinating history, some fine pieces of art and period furniture, and the magnificent interior decor of William Morris.
The gardens are small but lovely, with some interesting sculptures and a woodland walk which is easy to follow and not too demanding.
There was an activity-based trails for children plus an adventure corner. There was cafe is good quality, too, with seating inside and outside. It also has a great shop, with lots of William Morris items available.
