A wonderful, spiritual place, watch out for the ghosts

点评：The views awesome, went late November so clear, could see the Severn Bridge & power station. There are two good ways to visit, option 1) spring to September there is the TOR mini bus, pre book, park in the centre of Glastonbury, try either early morning if you can. The bus is convenient but limited time at the TOR, 40 minutes! OR option 2) early morning or late afternoon set your Sat Nav to BA6 8DB (Chickwell St. this is the car park for Draper & Son, a very small car park, the owner allows parking on condition you pay an ‘upfront fee either £3 or £5, from the car park, go via steps into the shop, pay & display your ticket.
You can buy amazing slippers and hand made clothing here.
Cross over the road, look out for the NT sign, walk up to the TOR, you can’t miss it, just keep looking up, steep narrow steps, take your time, half way there is a Heart Defibulator !!, dogs only allowed on a lead ( ideally no dogs) lots of people passing each other. There are benches to rest, we sat and chatted to a gentleman in beautiful tailored clothes & hat who spoke to us about the farm away in the distance for 10 minutes, as we were on limited time we had to leave him, and the man was a ghost! As we turned to carry on up to the TOR we turned around and he was gone!!
You will meet and see people meditating, take time to simply sit quietly, respect the TOR and its history.
Research the past and why it is so special. Then return to the car park, drive and try and find a car park, be amazed at all the spiritual shops, incense, candles and crystal shops, cafes, a couple of pubs (very old) hardly any retail shops, it’s a very strange but unique town
We didn’t have time to visit the Abbey, maybe next time
Try and visit in the quieter months
Wear good footwear, water, warm clothing & there is neither toilets or a cafe!
