Solhestar Hveragerdi What a ride !

点评：I am leaving this review as my other review of our day ended up on the incorrect section.
My wife and I had an a lovely ride at Solhestar Hveragerdi as part of our 8 day trip around Iceland, The farm was easy to locate and find, the setting was beautiful, surrounded by Geo thermal activity, with steam pouring out of the hillside and ground. The horses were so calm and well behaved, The tracks were well laid out and easygoing. The gentleman in front of me did have a fall during one of our more energetic tolts ! however it was due to him having his car keys in his trouser pocket, these fell out and landed on the horses saddle before hitting the horses front leg. This obviously startled the horse who moved to the left and stopped, the gentleman didnt follow the same trajectory and landed on the floor. This was no fault of the horse and I was very surprised how calm the horse was, as it just stood there calmly looking for something else to eat. I was directly behind and my horse stopped so quickly but calmly I hardly even noticed, I was impressed at the Icelandic horses well documented demeanor !. I have to take issue with 2 of the recent reviews depicting a different version of aftercare by the staff, The gentleman who fell was spoken to by my wife and I and the guide to ensure he was not hurt.but It was clear he didnt wish to remount and walked back to the stables, Once there I asked him on several occasions if he was alright as did my wife but this may have been lost in translation as we didnt speak Italian and he didnt speak English. The Staff were superb and helpful throughout the day, and we chatted to a few of the guides who were all smiles and happy to chat. We wouldnt hesitate to book again on our next visit to Iceland. my wife who is an experience horse rider enjoyed it so much that she was planning on staying for the whole summer !
