Our experience with both the facilities and management was extremely disappointing. The biggest issue involved the cabins. We reserved cabins for our 85-year-old parents, only to discover that the cabins do not have bathrooms. Guests must leave the cabin, cross a bridge, and walk through a rocky parking area to reach the restroom facilities—even in the middle of the night.
When I raised this concern with management, I was told that the lack of bathrooms is mentioned on their website. However, the manager also admitted that this situation happens "all the time" because many guests overlook that information when booking. When I asked why the employee taking the reservation did not warn us that the cabins had no bathrooms, especially given the age of our parents, the response was, "That is not our responsibility."
I explained that failing to mention such a significant detail during the reservation process is poor customer service. The manager's response was essentially that this is how they choose to do business and that if I was unhappy, I could file a complaint. He even stated that he enjoys arguing with customers who complain.
For a campground that charges premium prices, I expected far better customer service and far more consideration for elderly guests. Instead, I encountered an attitude that was dismissive, unhelpful, and unapologetic.
The hot springs themselves may attract visitors, but based on our experience, I cannot recommend this campground—especially if you are traveling with seniors, young children, or anyone who may need convenient restroom access. Make sure you fully understand the cabin accommodations before booking.
We felt that our concerns were ignored and that our elderly parents were treated with a complete lack of consideration. For that reason, I would not stay here again and would caution others to look elsewhere.
