Loved seeing the Sea Turtles and the Geckos

点评：We had a cruise stop in Dec./24 and I had watched some youtube videos and came across this beach.
There is the popular public area with chairs for rent but if you go past over the bridge to the tiny area there is a very small beach. The water is very calm and you can see some interesting fish along the breakwall.
I can't swim and won't go far from shore but like to snorkel.
The water is very clear and is shallow enough in the tiny cove.
After snorkeling walked over to the busy area and along the way there is an outcropping of rocks along the ocean with some very large geckos. Another amazing sight seeing so many sunning themselves on the rocks! All of them showing differnt colours.
The best part was seeing the sea turtles right up close and watching them.
We walked from port and it took about 30-40 minutes and we stopped and grabbed cans of beer at a gas station that also let us use thier bathroom.
The is a small restaurant along the way called El Hamburger..the prices were fair and the food was good and the beer was cold!
We'll return to El Cambron for certain on our upcoming March cruise. I'd like to try Mofongo for lunch but may end up at El Hamburger again. Which will still be a good thing!
If you are looking for a pleasant day this was a good way to spend it. If you are going to be in port for a few hours this beats going to an organized tour spot. It was very affordable and if you can't/don't want to walk there, an uber is very cheap. We were going to Uber back to the ship but opted for walking and seeing some of the old town. To do this, I just used Google Maps and asked for Marshalls dept store.
We used Google maps to find our way there and back to the ship. This was very easy even for those of us who don't use this type of tech often!
