点评：I was disappointed in our LCM experience. What is described as “immersive play” is chaotic, trite and unfocused. There was zero Canadiana focus during a time when our nationality and global alliances are at risk. Exhibits offer little to no background for parents to teach and enlighten children. Ex how to explain centrifugal force to a small child as illustrated on water table. As a farmer, I shake my head at the farm display and the focus on a crazy corn shucker. Why not discuss and show Earth as a living organism and teach children how to care for it? How costly is a microscope?
The interactive lab was short of materials, volunteers were bored and unengaged so we quickly left.
We did sit in on the star display. The presenter was 20 minutes late and the presentation was again- sub par! No explanation as to how stars were used to guide navigation, the importance of the North Star, seasonal changes etc…
What a horrendous waste of money and a lost opportunity for children’s enrichment. I gave it a 2 as my 4 year old grand daughter enjoyed running around and shopping in the store. My intelligent 8 year old nephew was completely bored after an hour and he politely asked to go home. There was really nothing to truly engage or inspire him and the chaos was unsettling.
