An easy stroll that provides some excellent views and an opportunity to collect some steps.
Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park的点评
点评：We were in Beacon/Newburgh for a family wedding and were looking for a day trip. The Walkway Over the Hudson was about 30-minutes away and the prospect of being able to hike across the Hudson and to have a view from above the middle of the river was appealing. It did not disappoint.
We arrived late afternoon and temperatures were about 29C/84F with overcast yet that was a relief from the 32C+/90F+ and blazing Sun of the previous 2 days. We parked near the Washington St. access and hiked out and back. It was still hot and we took our time and stopped to read the various plaques along the way. The pathway is broad and made from concrete sections that were made offsite and placed on the old bridge structure. It's definitely more than just an old trestle with the rails and railway ties removed. There is ample room for couples to pass going in both directions and still have room for bicycles going in both directions.
Round trip across and back took about an hour. We looked at the elevator but decided to forego taking the trip. We very much enjoyed the view from the center of the span and enjoyed our stroll.
