Not what I was expecting
The Spaceguard Centre & Observatory的点评
点评：After reading the mixed reviews we decided to visit as we are both amateur astronomers. The views were great from the little car park. We went to reception, bought tickets and went to wait for the tour to start. We were told it was an interactive tour and to ask questions as we think of them.
The tour started with a brief explanation of our solar system. We then sat in a dark dome for more of the tour which was very good. The guy spoke about M42 galaxy and we were very excited so on exiting we showed a recent photo we had taken of this only to be told basically anyone can do that. We continued the tour and were shown real bits of meteorite which was good. My partner asked another question with regards to photos on the computer and again he answered in a very short almost condescending manner. The tour finished with a slide show showing how the local community had built the big green dome and where the telescope had come from. This was not finished and not in use. We did not see any telescopes( disappointing) or any info about the other large structure atop the building. I get the idea this is a personal project with no affiliation to any certified space agency.
If you are a budding astronomer or expect to look through a big telescope I feel you may be disappointed. I would not visit again and unfortunately cannot recommend this attraction.
