Our view of the LKAB tour
LKAB矿区之旅的点评
点评：Everything has certainly already been described about the mine itself and its visit. Our view of the tour:
It's okay for LKAB to present itself as a green company in a promotional film. Nobody in the hall was interested.
The guided tour - very good, especially in the explanations - certainly went into far too much detail about iron ore extraction.
The presentation of the laying of Kiruna was also very interesting. I would have liked more information on this too.
Too little was said in detail about the machines on display (mini show effect with the ‘blasting’.
The miniature railway - nice. I would have liked to have seen the original locomotive (which is not possible).
And finally, the independent tour of the ‘museum’, which was really interesting, but I would have liked a little more historical information.
All in all, the tour is a bit bloated, so the coffee break would have been dispensable. It's a shame, of course, that many interesting aspects (e.g. the super-fast lifts) are only explained but not shown.
The tour is therefore a MUST-HAVE, but it also leaves plenty of question marks.
Important note for people like us: Yes, the meeting point for the mine tour/LKAB tour starts in the NEW Kiruna at the tourist information centre. This could be made clearer in the descriptions. We had a very strange feeling on the way there, especially as we were travelling by bike and had nowhere else to go.
