点评:Did this walk while finding local geocaches including Europes oldest. We naturally found our way across the top and then dropped down onto the coastal path. No where did it say that this path was closed due to rockfall and clay slides in 2021 and the path was busy with people coming in the other direction up the hill so no clues there either.
It seems we managed to drop into the closed section and proceed to walk north towards Bray. Only as we approached the town did we find a very solid fence preventing us going further. A bloke to the other side said we were not coming through and to follow the other folk
‘over the top’.
This was as it turns out only a small unofficial detour up the hillside but getting up to it and back down is far from simple and not for anyone unfit or carrying anything.
I can’t be the first person to have accidentally found myself in the closed section. As a visitor from Australia we also had no knowledge of the rockfalls. The council need to get this path fixed or better close it if they don’t want people on it.
It’s such a beautiful walk and it’s criminal it hasn’t been addressed more quickly. It must be costing the economy a fortune.
