点评：Highly recommended. Our family group of seven enjoyed this experience enormously. The drive up the mountain showed us a new perspective after a week at the coast. Amazing views. The tour began with a 400 metre drive through a tunnel into the huge chamber in the centre of the mountain. Just as our guide began to explain the history of the marble mine, the electric lights went out leaving battery-powered safety lights. With thunder and lightening outside, we weren’t surprised and full lighting was soon restored. Our guide - Iraria - spoke clearly and with great enthusiasm.
We learnt that before this mine was established, all marble had been cut from the outside of the mountain. Iraria explained all the equipment and machinery and the process of extracting marble blocks. To demonstrate the echo she asked us - on a count of one, two, three to shout out loud. Impressive echo!
To take a group of a dozen people around an industrial working mine, keeping us all interested and safe was a job well done. Thank you from our family
