Yummies Candy and Nuts的点评
点评：Shopping the early fall sales in Kittery, I took a break and went to Yummies Candy & Nuts. I hadn’t been there in ages.
This emporium of candy and nuts claims to have over 10,000 pounds worth in stock.
Near the front, there were souvenirs. Plush stuffed lobsters with Maine embroidered on one claw were $14.99. A kiosk had key chains and other small souvenirs.
The business had grown over the years. The packaged candy and nuts were literally stacked high and low in cubbyhole-type shelving.
Walking through the aisles. I noticed some candies with the names: Root Beer Barrels, Swedish Fish, and Flying Saucers.
Some of the packaged nuts I saw were labeled: Honey Roasted Cashews, Jumbo Peanuts, Pecan Pralines, Butter Toffee Peanuts, Redskin Peanuts, and Brazil Nuts.
I located the sugar-free hard candy and got $3.99 bags of raspberry and lemon.
In the front near the checkout, there were full bins of salt water taffy.. Having lived within 15 miles of the North Atlantic all my life, salt water taffy has always been a summer treat. So, I had to get some. Browsing the bins, I found conventional flavors like Lemon and Butterscotch, plus unexpected flavors such as Creamsicle, Peppermint, and Licorice. I got a mix of ½ dozen pieces.
I rate Yummies Candy & Nuts at 5.0 and highly recommend stopping in for candy, nuts, or both; and, for people from away, maybe a souvenir or two.
