Australian Army Flying Museum, Oakey. Amazing, visit is a must!!!!

Well organised and so interesting, reading about the Australian military aviation history.
We didn't book a tour, but thanks to Major Paul Morgan, we were able to experience the Taipan simulator.
So interesting to even get a fraction of an idea of how difficult it is to fly a helicopter. It gives you a new appreciation and how our armed forces fly overseas in difficult situations.
The 'desert workhorse' or Chinook was my favourite. Thanks to Major Morgan, we learnt so much about it and how this helicopter has been used for lots of relief work. It's great to see these helicopers in real life. You can even go inside, in some.....
We only went as a couple, but I'm sure kids would love it.
And unbelievably, it's free.
