点评:Cadre Noir has 4 missions; to train and teach, prepare high-level riders to enter competitions ( including the Olympics ), to study and research and maintain the tradition of French horse riding.
France’s Calvary was all but wiped out during the Napoleonic war, especially at Waterloo in 1805.
The French high society decided to fill the gap by employing France’s best horse riders and re-educate its Calvary to a higher standard.
Over the years the Cadre Noir has developed into an institution that is recognised worldwide, with over 300 hectares of land, for dressage and academic horse riding.
My wife and I had a one hour tour ( €11.50 each ) around the stables, with a French speaking guide ( I used Google translate) and was a great educational and interactive experience.
Well worth the Euro’s
