Very disappointing experience

点评：It's been a while since I've written a review. Covid broke my pattern and it's been tough getting back into it. My experience last might prompted me to write again, though.
Four of us went to their 'Spring Fling' last night. $50 for wine and snacks. It was supposed to be 2hrs with entertainment. It was at a weird time - 5:30 to 7:30. Dinner time but no dinner.
You check in at the door and get handed one of your two glasses of wine. A glass of what I think was sparkling Pinot Grigio. The glasses had all been poured in advance so I have no idea how long they had been sitting there unchilled. They sat there for the rest of the evening too. Not a good start. They hand you a ticket to get your glass of Malbec later.
The food was absolutely dreadful. Stale baguettes, stale crackers, four kinds of cheese with no indication what any of them were. Oysters on the half shell that were not restocked for those who went up later. A smattering of prosciutto that had been sitting around so long that it had gotten stiff. Some sort of what I think was shredded tuna maybe? I couldn't tell from the look, there was no label, and it didn't taste like anything at all. The vegetable table had some odd yellow sauce that looked like mustard and tasted sort of like hummus. There was a mushroom pate that was ok.
When you went up to get your glass of malbec it felt like you were being doled out nuclear fuel. The guy pouring the wine first poured the wine into a measuring glass sighting carefully to the indicated volume to ensure he didn't go over. That was then transferred into a wine glass and then subsequent glasses were poured next to that reference glass so that they were a match. It was bizarre to watch. I've been to many wineries and they generally pour quite freely seeing as how it's their own product.
The entertainment was Edie Daponte. If you live on Vancouver Island you've seen her in her red dress with her guitarist many times. She gets around.
For $100 a couple it was a HUGE ripoff.
We left after an hour and do not recommend.
