The most beautiful German Altstadt
纽伦堡老城区的点评
点评：Altstadt - Old town is pretty much similar in every German town/city. Mostly, it's a relatively small and new rebuilt area of the original medieval houses and squares, as there was almost nothing left after WWII.
During my 40 years of travels I've visited surely over 30 German towns, and from my experience I can say that smaller towns have more beautiful old towns than the bigger cities.
However, that's not the case with Nuremberg which is in top 10 biggest German cities.
It's Altstadt is both - big and beautiful, most beautiful in my opinion. Two factors are responsible for that - rich medieval history and its fab position along the Pegnitz river with its canals and islands.
Take your time and explore amazing city walls with turrets, bridges with arches over Pegnitz river, picturesque medieval streets with half timbered houses, great squares full of people,....enjoy German beers in pubs and of course, try Nuremberg worldwide famous sausages.
