点评：We arrived right before 7:15pm and the rangers gave a brief informative talk. The other ranger counted the number of visitors arriving (167) for the show. We sat at the amphitheater and at 7:30pm the whirlwind of bats started at the cave entrance. No cameras or recording devices allowed as bats can hear and will not emerge with loud noise or the electronic frequency put out. The rangers do an excellent job of monitoring the crowd for those who try to disregard the rule. Just sit and enjoy the show. We were at the top of the amphitheater and had an excellent view of the bats spinning before they emerged from the cave. I took note of the time on my watch and the bats continued to fly out for 14 minutes. Afterwards, visitors left and we were told by a notable source to stay quietly seated as the bats would probably make another showing. Sure enough, a second wave of bats flew out of the cave and we watched a large bird of prey swoop down and catch a bat for its dinner. I’m so glad we stayed as it was a bit harder to see as it was getting darker but watching nature is so unpredictable at times but always fascinating.
