Great trails and lakes but stay away from the cabins

点评：I went to the Chain o lakes state park Sunday 9-15-24. I had reservation for three nights in Family cabin #10. The park was good. I enjoyed the Stanley School. I hiked several trails. they were well groomed. I also had my kayak with. I did the 9-lake challan. The water level was very low in the channels at that time, but I was able to do it. The cabin was a different story. it is not very clean there was dust and cobwebs in several areas, the microwave and oven was beyond filthy. The refrigerator was rusty inside and out and leaking. I thought I saw sings mice at first but was not sure. The rooms where good size and master had a queen bed and storage and a dresser. I was in accessible cabin. so, there was room under the sink. The toilet rocked back and forth. By second night I saw what I thought was dirt and I was woken by a loud sound in the kitchen. I went to check it out and 2 mice and a rat where in the kitchen. I had a package of buns on the counter and they goth them. There was mice poop all over the counter and the flooring in the bedroom. Every time I shut the lights out, they came back, I got no sleep that night. First thing in the morning when the park office opened, I called in. They offered me a trap. I am on vacation I do not want to deal with this. Then they offered to switch cabins. By the time I packed up and went back down to the office and get another key just to check out the next day and there was no guarantee the next cabin would be cleaner and rodent free. I decided to leave a day early. They did give me one night credit even though I thought it should be more since I got no sleep Monday night. It was too bad because I did enjoy the rest of the park. Maybe I would do it again in a tent or camper in the campground. They have a lot of work to do on those cabins.
