The Needles Breezer的点评
点评：My mother, sister and I came to the Isle of Wight for a day out to reminisce all the previous trips we experienced with my learning disabled uncle before his sudden death in December 2024. 12th September would have been his 80th birthday and he liked nothing better than an open top bus ride along to Alum Bay after his ferry ride to Yarmouth,so we thought we would recreate the experience
From the moment Ian the bus driver allowed us onboard we had a wonderful trip. He was certain to ensure we got the best value ticket for our intended journey and then we went upstairs to John's favourite front seats Unlike journeys in the 1970s and1980s when we were children, my sister and I appreciated the protection of the roof when going under trees with low branches but other passengers were enjoying being out in the open air as the Needles breezer has both!
The trip is now longer than the coastal bus used to be and comes with a history and travel navigation Although I lived on the Island for two years when first teaching at Sandown High, I was taken down unfamiliar lanes and we watched with baited breath as Ian negotiated both traffic and bollards with great precision. We got off at Alum bay to reminisce some more and then came back to the stop to find this bus was our original one and Ian was helping other travellers work out the easiest and cheapest route to get where they wanted to go. He welcomed us back on board and we settled in for another interesting journey back to Yarmouth. My favourite landmark/ stop announcement was " Freshwater Sainsbury's" but we all felt Ian needed special recognition as he was no doubt giving excellent service!
