Stunning views and hike, but requires pre-planning (parking), lots of water, cash for the huts and layers if cold!

点评：Luckily The Mrs researched this well in advance of the holiday and found out you have to book the parking in advance, which is supposed to open a month in advance, but she had to keep checking back for our date it only opened a few weeks before.
When you book they should also tell you that the huts along the hike only take cash, and only 1 of them allows you to top up your water, and all toilets are pay toilets.
All that aside the “walk” as The Mrs called it, is well worth it. We were very lucky with the weather as it was not too hot, and it stayed the same temp all day. We did the route anti-clockwise as suggested (and later on very glad we did), and the first 30 mins or so are spectacular and lull you into a bit of a false sense of security. After the first hut it gets quite steep for a little and then a long walk downhill before a very short steep uphill to the half way point. Tried to get some lunch but cash only and only had €15 so 2 tiny plates of potato wedges and the water we’d brought with.
Then a zigzag down hill and then a long steed part. Was knackered at the top, and the air is quite thin (well, I found it to be). Then up and down to the last hut (with a cue to refill water from what can only described as a trough) and again hut was cash only!
An amazing walk along a skree slope and not long after back to the car park.
Take lots of water and cash and walking shoes/boots, and if weather is not perfect lots of layers.
