点评：Peebles was the last stop off before heading back south home. It was the third course in as many days so whilst we were looking forward to the golf we were also very glad to be taking a golf buggy to save our legs. I’ll also add we would t have liked to walk this had it been our first round as there are some challenging hills to ascend here at PGC, this is in no way to say it’s walkable even carrying if your fit enough, in fact we saw a woman in her senior years carrying as we holed out on eighteen. The course was so different from our last two (dry links type with lots of run on the ball) Peebles, parkland style with extremely lush fairways and even lusher rough! The course was manicured very well, greens excellent and they had sculpted the fairways really nicely, however it was noticeable that fairways didn’t blend gradually via semi rough etc it was either fairway or pretty deep cabbage. Don’t misunderstand me here it was so deep that balls were lost but eeeh, it were thick, add in a damp wet morning, woods and hybrids were out of the question, so anything wayward meant your gross score increasing. Stunning views from the higher points of the course around the 6th hole and the par 3 16th has the most beautiful copper beech hedge as a glorious backdrop to the green. One minor gripe was the list of ‘rules’ pinned to the windscreen of the golf buggy. From memory there were around 5 holes where you were given detailed driving instructions/ directions, which were certainly not required. A couple of lines including ‘ don’t drive the buggy near the greens or tees and keep to the rough where possible’ would have been suffice, in fact it did say this also even stating a distance from both! Green fee was very reasonable and worth it and I would recommend this course if ever in the area.
