Absolutely Brilliant Experience !!!
Chiltern Valley Winery & Brewery的点评
点评：I was given a gift voucher for my 60th birthday last year, and due to a number of reasons didn’t get to book the tour
Being a gift , I couldn’t waste it , so decided to extend it ,and having now done the tour was so pleased I did !!!
We only live in Amersham, 35 minutes away, but given that we were doing a wine tasting , were not going to risk drinking and driving, and having looked into it ,we were then aware there was accommodation on site . Being January, there was a very good deal on the B and B , so we booked the tour and the overnight stay !
Upon arriving , we booked on in at the shop , and were shown to our room (Vineyard View) in a beautiful old traditional farmhouse !!
The room was clean, and beautifully decorated in a style befitting of the house
As we were 2 miles from the nearest village , and the food van on site would be closed, we asked about the options for an evening meal. We had been perfectly prepared to walk to a local pub or catch a taxi, but were told the vineyard would arrange a taxi in conjunction with other guests !
We then headed on to the tour.
As I predominately drink red wine ( not commonly produced in the UK), I was looking forward to the tour , but didn’t think I would be too excited about the wines . How wrong could I be !!!!
We were taken to the barn, which also acts as a wedding or party venue, and were met by our brilliant tour guide. He introduced himself , gave us a brief history of the owners and vineyard, and, given his manner, I immediately knew this was going to be a really fun, enjoyable and informative experience !!!
He then took us to the vineyard, showed us the pressing, fermentation and bottling processes for the wines , ales and spirits before taking us into a back room for the tasting itself !!
The tasting room was laid out really nicely with seats in pairs, and a small wooden crate “table”, upon which were glasses, tasting notes, lovely cheese and biscuits, water …..and a spitoon (Purely for anyone who may not like the wine being tasted !! )
Having tasted a good selection of the wines, predominantly white and sparkling, I was amazed at the quality , and how much I was enjoying them !!!
The glasses were rarely empty, and we moved on to ales and spirits !!
Each one was discussed, in a really friendly and enjoyable manner , making it a really fun experience. We were also very lucky in that all the guests were equally friendly and fun !
The whole tour was about an hour and 50 minutes , and we were then given the opportunity to purchase bottles, olives, sauces etc in the shop, and with discounted rates for those attending or staying at the B and B !
The taxi arrived early to take us to The Stag and Huntsman at Hambleden , two miles away, which is a beautiful, traditional country pub, with a roaring log fire in the lounge and decent selection of ales.
Having looked online at the pub menu, and only wanting a small meal, it was upon arriving that we were given a menu specifically for the Vineyard guests, offering 2 or 3 courses , and obviously a joint venture between the two
We weren’t given any other option, and this obviously included a cost to cover the taxi fare from the vineyard and back
This was our fault, as we had not enquired in advance, and had we done so, this would have no doubt been made very clear
Speaking to the pub , we were able to order what we wanted off the à la carte menu, and the bill received, rightly contributed towards the taxi
The quality of food was excellent , with my fish and chips particularly good !!!
After an excellent nights sleep , the best of the food was yet to come !!!
The farmhouse breakfast was absolutely sublime , beautiful free range eggs, premium quality bacon, sausages, tomatoes and mushroom , and as for the orange juice ……simply brilliant !!!
Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery have put so much effort into this , with no expense spared to ensure guests not only have a really good tour, but a 5 star quality B and B experience as well !!!
All the staff, we’re not only friendly and helpful, but also keen to ensure people have a great time !
We may only be 35 minutes away, but I’m already planning another visit , in the summer when we can take advantage of summer nights when we can walk and visit other hamlets and pubs in this beautiful part of Buckinghamshire !!!

品尝了精选的葡萄酒，主要是白葡萄酒和起泡酒，我对它们的品质感到惊讶，我非常喜欢它们！！！

奇尔特恩谷酒庄和啤酒厂为此付出了巨大的努力，不惜一切代价确保客人不仅能享受一次真正美好的旅行，还能享受五星级的住宿体验！！！
所有工作人员，我们不仅友好和乐于助人，而且热衷于确保人们玩得开心！
我们可能只有 35 分钟的路程，但我已经在计划另一次访问，在夏天，我们可以利用夏夜散步，参观白金汉郡这个美丽地方的其他村庄和酒吧！！！
