点评：Kurtz Corral is a Door County tradition that, for generations, has provided a truly satisfying horseback riding experience.
The neophyte, especially, will feel secure in riding one of the lovingly cared-for steeds. In addition to an informative video, the management reviews all the ins and outs of properly riding a horse. In fact, the pre-ride banter is part of the experience that makes Kurtz's special.
There are two options for riding. One is a 20-minute saunter around a large ring. The other, and the real experience, is a one-hour ride across field and forest, including a long-forgotten apple orchard.
Our longer cross-country ride was guided by a knowledgeable young woman named Shannon. She gave riding pointers as well as relating interesting stories about the horses on the ride.
Each rider is perfectly matched with an appropriate horse, in both size and personality.
Our grandchildren, 9 and 6, thoroughly enjoyed the hour-long ride, as did the senior citizen who thought this was an appropriate bucket list item.
