点评：Our group of three BDR riders stayed at Red River Hot Spring located a short ride outside Elk City before starting Section 5 of the IDBDR. While they have yurts, cabins, rooms inside the lodge, and RV spots (without hookups), we enjoyed a tent site that accommodated all of us. Our site had an established fire pit with a supply of wood, potable water at a spigot nearby, and an outhouse with running water and a flush toilet.
With the location dating back to 1896 the property boasts rustic charm with excellent owner and staff hospitality. There are bathrooms and HOT showers near the pool included with the reservation, and a gift shop with snacks, apparel items, and artisan soaps in the lodge for sale. To prevent merchandise damage on the trail (i.e. melted or crushed soaps) I took advantage of their convenient and reasonably-priced shipping option to send my purchases home.
Red River Hot Spring was a refreshing stop along this journey for our group, and will be a destination spot in the future.
