The kayaks are all old and rudderless and there was no care taken to fit people to an appropriate size of kayak and no instruction given.
After a long wait we were hustled into the river along with 115 other people, many of whom had clearly never kayaked before.
Unless you are used to kayaking, 8.5km is a really long way and it stops being any sort of fun after about 3km. The river is not at all scenic- mostly you hear loads of other people and traffic from the motorway which you are basically going alongside for most of the trip.
The river is also very polluted and dirty- not appealing.
As we were so late getting started the tide was already turned by the time we were 1/2 way and the day became a tortuous endurance test. It felt like a money making operation rather than a company that cared about people having a good time.
