点评：The Seaford museum is situated on the Esplanade facing the sea and is around half a mile on foot from the railway station.
The museum is full of local history housed on several floors and there are many fascinating exhibits.
The museum is contained in a Martello Tower built in 1808 as a defence fortification for the Napoleonic War.
Seaford was a Cinque Port but its importance dwindled as its harbour silted up due to coastal erosion.
However the town’s prominence improved with the advent of the railway.
I enjoyed the old railway posters, the bathing machine, the cinema recreation and the vast collection of old domestic appliances including televisions, radios and old computers.
There are great views across the sea and to the chalk cliffs from the top of the tower.
I paid £4.50 for over 65 admission.
The museum is open on Saturday and Sunday and Wednesday afternoon in summer.
