Great museum. Lots to see. Not quite as customer-friendly as it could be.

点评：Lots of positives: I really enjoyed this museum, and went back a week later. And will go again. It's great. So much do see. Some really good interactive stuff. The planetarium was excellent, and I appreciated being able to watch a show without having to buy an additional ticket. Good for both kids and adults, while some of it feels a bit worn, there is certainly plenty to see and do. Museum store is great: a bit overpriced as all museum stores are, but there are fun gifts and souvenirs for all ages. And... it's walking distance to the Long Island Children's Museum, so you can do two great places in a day!
Few negatives: the planetarium show didn't start on time, so we sat through 10 minutes of repetitive commercials. Urgh. At one point in our first visit, they closed both female bathrooms for cleaning at the same time... not ideal! There are arcade games/simulators right at the heart of the museum - it would make life easier for parents/families if these were either off to the side somewhere, or set to play free. My kids were not happy that I hadn't come armed with quarters!
*IMPORTANT one last* They close for private events during normal opening hours - so, before you go, check their website for day-to-day opening times, etc. We have now been there twice during regular opening hours only to find it inaccessible because of special events.
