Nice change of scenery. Nice job, Virginia.
The Washington & Old Dominion Trail的点评
点评:First time on this trail, biked Leesburg to Purcellville, round trip.
I usually bike the C&O canal, so this was cushy although the long, low grade in first leg got me. I hadn't biked since October so I was getting a little tired. Return from P to Leesburg was a breeze.
Pretty scenery, unnerved a little by all the road crossings.
I noted that many of the male bikers felt no need to announce when they passed. Yes, you call that sexist but it's a fact As someone who has a hearing loss (plus I zone out when biking), this was very disappointing. Even my friend, who hears very well, got taken by surprise a couple of times. Signs are posted repeatedly asking bikers to announce when passing. So what is the problem? Have deduced we were closer to the city= arrogance on their part.
Will return and ride other parts of trail.
