点评:It was interesting to walk through the Blackhouse, and just a little shocking to us it was inhabited as recently as 1974! Another point of interest was that the slope of the floor follows the lay of the land, so you go uphill from the entrance through the kitchen to the bedroom. The gentleman in the workshop of the house shared interesting information about the weaving industry and the loom housed there. The videos in the museum taught us some things we found interesting about collecting peat, and the photo displays around the walls were well done. We enjoyed a quick tea and treat from the cafe £20 for two. The admission price of £5/person is reasonable, and the setting overlooking the sea and grazing fields is scenic, but it’s a pretty small venue, and calling it a village is a stretch because although there are several houses, visitors can only enter two, plus the gift shop/cafe. The remaining several houses are apparently accommodations…..
