Shepparton Art Museum的点评
点评：We had to be at Shepparton for a couple of nights and there's not a lot to do there but the museum seemed to be worth a look, particularly because a Brett Whiteley exhibition was showing. The modern building is very attractive and is in a great setting on the outskirts of town next to the lake and the Goulburn river. We'd seen most of the exhibits when we visited the Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills near Sydney but it was good to see them in a more modern and far less messy and cluttered environment. The Surry Hills Studio is being renovated so its artworks are on loan to four other galleries nationally until the end of the year. The exhibition is well worth a look but you'll need to do it before 5 October. An added bonus is that the exhibition is free.
A walk around the lake and along the river to the railway bridge is also worth doing. Lunch at the museum restaurant, Elsewhere at SAM, is recommended too.
