点评：We booked the penguin feeding experience using a Virgin Experience Days voucher. Booking was simple and completed over the phone. We arrived and the front desk staff were friendly and were expecting us, gave us the information we needed for our experience and allowed us to enter. All of the staff we encountered were friendly. The cafe and the food were lovely.
They are having a lot of work done in the park at the moment and it’s left some of the other areas feeling a little run down and neglected, would be interesting to see how this is dealt with once the current works are completed.
We switched from another venue to Birdworld for the Penguin Feeding Experience based on videos we had seen on TikTok posted by accounts such as maxandharveyofficial and lucyedwards which showed a lot of penguin interaction, with the penguins coming right up to them and them hand feeding the penguins. The reality for non-influencers is very different. You pay a significant amount of money to stand on a platform and drop fish into the water for the penguins to get. That’s it. No penguins at your feet, no hand-feeding, no going into their habitat. It feels very much like false advertising to have pushed this experience on TikTok in order for others to buy, then offer a vastly different and nowhere near as interesting encounter. If it was shown as such, I wouldn’t have been as miffed by the whole experience but when the expectation is so different to the reality I can’t help but feel hard done by. I really feel that this is something that Birdworld should address. We drove for almost 3 hours each way for this experience and really do feel let down.
