点评：THE MOST MEMORABLE DAY OF OUR HOLIDAY. We spent 10 nights in Tulum and explored a lot but this was our favourite day. We got fairly lucky as another group that should have been on our boat cancelled so it ended up being a private tour for just the two of us (we chose the nature encounter).
Our guide Aldo was incredibly knowledgeable and you could see how much he loved and respected the wildlife, he was very good at his job and so kind and friendly. Our boat ran into some mechanical trouble where we could only go slowly through the canals but he turned it into such a positive thing and we ended up seeing so much wildlife. Personal highlights include crocs, manatees, sting rays, roseate spoonbills, wood storks, ibis, osprey, many types of heron and a needle fish.
I had a DSLR to take wildlife photos and Aldo was so accommodating and helped me get some shots that I will cherish forever. I also sometimes get nervous on boats but felt really safe and he was a great driver.
Tip: Bring sunscreen (ocean friendly), hat, water. Ladies, go to the loo before you get there!
