点评:The Museum of Farnham is situated on West Street and is around three quarters of a mile on foot from the railway station.
It is housed in Willmer House, a fine 18th century Georgian building. It is currently undergoing refurbishment so there is scaffolding at the front of the house.
The pleasant town of Farnham was famous in the past for pottery and brewing. There are interesting exhibits relating to both in the museum.
Nearby Farnham Castle, which was partially destroyed in the English Civil War features prominently, as does William Cobbett, local politician and author of Rural Rides.
I enjoyed the artwork from a range of local painters. Stephen Elmer, John Verney, war artist John Hutton and W H Allen.
There is also a good collection of postcards on the first floor.
The garden is very pleasant too complete with a statue of William Cobbett.
Admission is free. Opening times are 10-4 on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
