Great Dive Centre, lovely people, amazing training
Bubbles Dive Centre的点评
点评：I first went to bubbles in March 2024 whilst looking for centres to complete my IDC with. After visiting I had a good conversation with Lee and ultimately settled on bubbles for the IDC. The information received from Lee pre IDC was very informative and covered all necessary information about the program and what to expect in Gozo and from the course and how best to prepare. I opted on staying with bubbles for a month post IDC to gain some experience within the dive centre as a qualified instructor.
The quality of training delivered by bubbles was to a very high standard. We were taught, and therefore always expected, to exceed minimum standards which prepared us well for the examinations at the end of the course. We had great access to in water training, sometimes the instructor candidates would head into the bay to practice skills amongst ourselves in free time between preparing customer dives and other times more formal training would be delivered with Lee and the staff instructor candidates assessing skills and providing feedback. The classroom training was to a similarly high standard, again with a focus towards exceeding the bare minimum and making us all the best we could achieve. The staff at bubbles were all very knowledgable around what was required of the instructor candidates and how best to hone an excellent delivery of classroom materials.
Gozo itself has many excellent dive sites that bubbles operates at, including sites not accessible from the shore using their boat. Some of my favourite sites being the P31 wreck, lantern point, and the Santa Maria caves around comino; as well as the inland sea, ras il-hobz, and of course the blue hole on Gozo.
All of the shop equipment has been recently updated to Mares equipment and so is new and of good quality with a good selection of fits and items available, including some wing BCDs for rental also. Any equipment that you may need is available for rental, but it is also advisable to have your own in general if you’re are completing your instructor qualification.
The dive centre also has a great little bar attached to it, the 200 bar, they have a great selection of drinks here and they also serve really good food, so it’s a great place to hang out with the staff and get to know each other a little bit, particularly for instructor and dive master candidates who may not know anyone else on the island. They also hold events here from time to time in collaboration with environmental organisations in Malta, which are really interesting to go along to if you get the chance.
And of course the staff are all generally really lovely and knowledgable about diving and the local area around Gozo and wider Malta. Particularly with training they will be really supportive and are a great source of knowledge if you need to brush up on any areas of dive theory or practical knowledge! Within the pro training staff too Lee and Gemma are great to work with, very knowledgeable and will help you to overcome any issues you may be having whether it be practical, theoretical, or just getting used to using the systems involved with being a pro! Chris heads up the technical diving front, I don’t have much contact with him myself but he is very friendly and I heard lots of positive reviews from others who were doing tech courses with him.
So all in all, bubbles is a great choice of centre whether it be for a couple of dives on holiday, learning to dive, or training to be a Pro. 100/10!
