Friendly Until Found Out: Price gouging gift shop with a bad attitude.

点评：My family had a horrible encounter at this place. We watched with our very eyes price labels for blankets be pulled off the stand and then told the price was double. When we asked why the woman said the price had been wrongly labeled. This happened twice and it became apparent they were trying to scam tourists. The owner finally got involved and was even worse yelling an explanation in my face that it was for charity and he doesn’t make any money off the sales. Hovering you as you walk the shop is fine but changing prices in front of you because they want to take advantage of tourists is wrong. When I called him out he became very hostile and angry. He knew he was busted for this and even came out of the shop and yelled at our safari guide who quickly drove us away. This place is internally trying to take advantage of tourist. I have no issue making donations to a charity but I will not be bullied or scammed by a man clearly taking advantage of this. We found another shop just down the road with the friendliest local people. Yes the stores were not impressive or fancy but we were treated with respect and the prices were literally 1/3rd the amount and I know the money went into the hands of the crafters who made the items. Example: identical mask in the Heritage shop was $380 at the local shop was $100. There is something wrong with this place. Be careful if you decide to stop in. Most uncomfortable I felt during my entire stay in Arusha.
