Happy Train的点评
点评：We went on the 4 hour ‘Happy Train’ from Elounda today and would definitely recommend it. The train is covered and so you are sheltered from the sun (it was 31 degrees) and the breeze blowing through keeps you comfortable on the padded seats. The train first visits Plaka where you get around half an hour for a coffee stop or a little browse through the shops. The train then climbs the adjacent hills for some fantastic views over the bay and Spinalonga Island. The train then continues climbing and visits a couple of little villages where you get out and have a walk round and look at a lovely church with rooftop artwork that was painted by a guy with no arms who painted with his mouth and toes. Amazing artwork. Also visited a couple of old windmills. You then return to a local tavern in the first village you visited and have the chance to visit a local tavern. The food and drink at the tavern were excellent and very reasonably priced (€3 for a beer). A meal for two with drinks was less than €25. The guide (Mario?) was excellent. Very knowledgeable and informative and funny with it. All in all an excellent half day out. Well worth the cost at €25 each
