点评：A good first impression as we had a great welcome from the staff in the car park. Beautifully maintained gardens to walk around and a lovely church (not NT owned) with views over the surrounding countryside to visit on the way around. There is also a great second hand bookshop. We tried to visit the house but although we waited outside for quite some time as requested by the sign outside nobody came so we gave up. On returning to the car park we were told that the house was in fact closed that day and the sign should not have been there. In fact they went on to say they had received other complaints and although they had notified staff of this error nothing had been done leaving visitors to waste their time waiting. They blamed staff shortages but surely even one of the gardeners working close by could have rectified this. Very poor.
