点评:The tour was ok, but we thought it lacked a lot of historical information. Also, because the tour was conducted in the dark, many of the points of interest - especially those outside (courtyards, gardens, etc) were not visible even though they would have played a large part in the life of those in the asylum. Speaking of gardens etc those we COULD see were unkempt, wild and scraggy and absolutely NOT how they would have been, in the day. A huge opportunity has been missed to exhibit how the asylum would have appeared during its tenure in the fact that all the rooms were empty and no attempt has been made to reconstruct/display how the building would have looked, in the day. No attempt has been made to display the living or working conditions. It is just basically a large, empty building which (by today’s viewing) could have been ANYTHING, let alone an historical living record of the asylum in its day.
