点评:Casual informal farm restaurant. It's mass catering on a smallish scale efficiently run. We came for a Sunday lunch which you have to book, it's very popular. Full of families and couples. The roast comes as a standard plate of beef and pork, all plated up exactly the same. It's £17 which is good value. Meat is good quality hardly any fat. The roasties were very overcooked on the outside, rock hard presumably kept warm under heat. As we had an early sitting we were surprised. The kale was very good. We were happy enough with it though. We ate inside the inside restaurant, it's warm in there with rads on as well as a big wood burner. We had ice cream afterwards. It had rather a lot of ice in it and we both found the rum and raisin as well as the almond crunchy (which wasn't crunchy at all) far too sweet. Nobody else seems to find that but it's worth bearing in mind. It was a faff to queue up at the till to get it
We are glad that we came but I am not sure we would rush back. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended
