点评:Brijuni Safari Park is one of the most interesting attractions on the island of Veliki (Great) Brijun. Visitors mostly explore the park through a ride on a train and they can see various animals including zebras, ostriches, llamas, and peacocks. There are also sacred Indian cows (zebu), sea turtles and goats. However, the most impressive animal here is the Asian elephant Lanka who arrived on the island in 1972 as a gift from Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Although I don't think the animals here are treated badly, I think there is some scope for them to be taken care of better as some of them looked a bit bored or even sad in the case of Lanka. In general, though, they seem to be well fed and well cared for, so I don't think you should have any major concerns about their well-being.
The only way to visit this site is by booking an excursion to Veliki Brijun. The minimum cost of the ticket is €40, which gives you access to the Brijuni Pocket Guide application and the right to explore the island on your own. We chose the more expensive €50 option, which gets you a tourist train ride through the island and a guide. I suggest you pick the more expensive option as the train ride was quite fun and it helped us see as much as possible.
